Christine discovered yoga over 30 years ago, and has been practicing ever since.
Laurel was first drawn to yoga at the age 18 as a way to maintain health and fitness and to relieve stress. Over time she realized that yoga was much more and that with regular practice, by combining deep relaxation, breathing practices and meditation with asana (postures) and also studying the Philosophies of Yoga, an overall feeling of health and wellbeing is experienced. In 2002 she commenced my teacher training with Shanti Gowans at The Meditation Institute. Laurel is also an Ayurveda Lifestyle consultant and has studied Massage.
Jarrod has trained with Shanti Gowans, and he teaches the Wednesday night Gentle Class at the Centre. He brings enthusiasm and a love for yoga to his classes, welcoming everyone.
Can you remember when you were a child playing barefoot, carefree and confident? You lived for the moment, had limitless potential and would dream about how wonderful life would be when you were big. When we grow up, we develop beliefs about ourselves that hold us back, feel uncertain about our future and are overwhelmed with fear and worry. Life coaching involves working to close the gap between where you are now and where you want to be. It is about finding out what is really important to you, identifying your goals and developing strategies to achieve them. It is about feeling confident all the time, embracing challenges and giving yourself the opportunity to enjoy your life.
