Kathy Mansfield is an Internationally Accredited Power Yoga Teacher and owner of Yogi Space in Mackay.

After practicing Yoga on and off for about 15 years, Kathy sought more depth and understanding in her yoga practice to help her to deal with her grief over the loss of her beloved father to cancer. In her father’s name Kathy invested in the study of yoga and to gain her Level one - Power Yoga teacher Training in 2013 with Yoga NRG. Kathy began teaching immediately and has been offering these traditional yet timeless teachings of yoga at her own studio ever since.

With an extensive background in nursing and health and physical education Kathy’s approach to yoga practice is holistic.

Her intention is to help others to find presence in their everyday lives through yoga practice and mindfulness. Kathy wants to provide comprehensive, innovative, and inspiring Yoga-based programs and retreats for people of all ages and backgrounds, to hopefully inspire lifetime participation in yoga, meditation, and self-study.

Kathy believes that the whole point of yoga is to quieten down the mind to find space and ease. The quiet mind can open up a world of possibilities, and that world is Yoga. The quiet mind offers us opportunity to live in the present moment and bring awareness to how we are responding to; various situations, the physical sensations of the body and thoughts as they move in and out of the mind. The present moment is the only one that matters because it is the only moment you know you have for sure!

Kathy is committed to her continued growth, education and practice of Yoga. She is always seeking new ways to bring the practice and benefits of Yoga to her clients, her community, and her peers in the industry.

Kathy‘s love of the outdoors has inspired her to offer yoga retreats to provide opportunities for people to let go, unwind and be free to find time and space for their yoga practice. Kathy believes that through a weekend of total yoga immersion and time out from the hustle and bustle of our everyday lives we can find some restoration, peace and ease for our minds and our bodies.
