We are seeking yoga teacher trainee's who are close to completing their teacher training courses and yoga teachers that have recently graduated. Experienced teachers who would like to advance their teaching career are also welcome to apply.

Western Wellness operates 7 days per week, year round (excluding national public holidays) offering over 38 classes per week as well as a variety of workshops and transformational programs.

Western Wellness provides teachers with comprehensive post graduate training, support and mentoring to ensure teachers operate to the highest industry standards. As a Yoga Alliance registered yoga school, Western Wellness offers teachers full time and part time teaching positions with strong career stability as well as access to advanced training and professional development programs. Western Wellness also offers full time teachers additional work within leadership or administrative capacities.

The right applicant will have following attributes;

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Located in Melbourne within 45 minutes drive of Point Cook
  • Access to own transportation, reliable car required
  • Available to teach a minimum of 4 classes / week including at least 1 weekend shift
  • Desire to work in structured teaching environment and teach to designated class plan
  • Willingness to learn and receive ongoing feedback and support
  • Committed to attending professional development training and career advancement programs provided by Western Wellness
  • Completed or a close to completing a minimum of 200 hours Teacher Training course
  • Demonstrate a history of personal practice and/or teaching in a non-heated yoga environment
  • Hold a current First Aid Certificate and Insurance
  • Must be available to attend fortnightly team meeting and quarterly professional development training
  • Available to commit to a minimum 12 - 18 month teaching agreement

To be considered for a teaching position applicants must:

Pre Requisite:

  • Attend a minimum of 2 classes at Western Wellness before applications will be considered
  • Hold permanent Australian residency
  • Passionate about teaching yoga in a non-heated environment. (At Western Wellness we prefer to sweat naturally, our teaching style is influenced by Iyengar and hatha yoga. Applicants who prefer power-flow or heated styles of yoga are not encouraged to apply for this position)

Interview Process:

  • Complete employment application and written interview questions
  • Attend a formal interview (90 minutes) and facilitate a (30 minute) demonstration yoga class for the studio directors
  • Provide 2 referees for an employment reference check

Working for Western Wellness

Induction Training

All teachers complete a 20 hour paid induction training module which includes attending 2 half day training workshops and co-facilitation of classes with the studio directors over 12 weeks. At the conclusion of induction Teachers receive ongoing support and mentoring as part of their ongoing development at Western Wellness.
