WHAT TO EXPECT
Sun-Moon Island is a simple natural setting. According to the Tao and the Buddhist principles water is wisdom, and the retreat is surrounded by waterways, it is also a Yin environment, having a lot of moisture year round. We will be visiting the island at its ideal time of year, the temperature around 26 - 28 degrees.
We’re very fortunate to be offered the island for this women’s journey. It is a place of stillness, ideal for deeper reflection and transformation. We will be the only people on the island, this retreat is an intimate group size with a maximum of 22 people. We will by supported by the local family who will look after us.
All rooms are shared, two or three people to a room. Rooms are simple cabins, with a balcony or view, and most have their own bathroom. The Chinese bathroom is a squat toilet, with a shower-head on the wall.
You should prepare yourself to enter the retreat as if you were headed to a quiet cabin in the forest to meditate, in Buddhist style the facilities are very simple, and it is really a nature-immersion. Our processes will be held both indoors and in nature. The invitation is to drop our usual comforts and be with nature and our inner journey without distraction.
We will have simple vegetarian food. Please notify us of any allergies in advance. We will generally have three meals a day. If you need further snacks please bring these with you. The island has its own vegetable garden, which we will tend at times. There are fruit trees growing plentifully all over the island, mango, starfruit, longyn, citrus, etc.
THREE DAYS OF SILENCE
There will be three days of silence. There is an option to sleep out on a one or two night nature solo. In which case, you will need to bring some additional equipment. If you are considering the nature solo, please tick this option on your registration form, so we can send you the additional preparation info.
