The breath is something that we often take for granted, even though we wouldn’t have life without it. But by paying attention to the breath, slowing it down, and deepening it, we can slow the mind down and enter into a state of healing rest and meditation. We can also connect the breath to the mind and the body so that everything else fades away except the present moment, thereby releasing tensions and reconnecting with the spirit that resides within each and every one of us and that connects us to each other, to Nature, and to the whole Universe.

The Breath and Sound

Sound is intrinsically connected to the breath and to the spirit. Ancient sounds, in the form of mantras, are vibrations that affect us on a very deep level, resonating within and actually stimulating certain areas of the brain and the body. Therefore, when you tune into your breath and recite mantras or sing, you relax your mind and allow natural healing to take place throughout the body.

 

Connect with Nature, Connect with the Breath

Join us for two inspiring and calming weeks in Nature, where we will build a daily practice of breathing, also known as pranayama. We will also meditate together, learn sacred mantras, and perform yoga asanas that will teach you how to connect your breath to every movement your body makes.

 Goals

Teach pranayama with confidence: Its through your own personal practice and study which builds confidence to teach to others.

Expand your awareness beyond the physical body: Learn more about the unseen bodies of the Koshas, chakras, and Prana Vayus.

Interweave the union of harmony and balance of Mind, Body and Spirit. With each morning practice interweaves the unseen with the seen bodies, connecting the mind and body with spirit.

Develop a daily pranayama practice. Through daily guidance, study and twice a day practice, this investment will assist your practice to deepen and your knowledge of pranayama to expand.

Through the practice of being still and directing the awareness inwards, consciousness begins to awaken. All that you seek is within your self.

Improve your health; Daily practice of Pranayama has a direct affect on the nervous system and in turn influences the whole body and all its systems as they are all related. Organically a sense of peace arises in the mind, and is reflected in the body. Science also agrees that no disease can live in the bodies with excessive oxygen.

Understand how the science of Pranayama works and how it influences the bodies. Through a break down of Physical and subtle anatomy, interwoven with the ancient scriptures of the benefits and effects of pranayama your understanding will expand through wisdom and discipline of study.

The breath is the giver of life, with out the breath there is no life. Connect back to the sacredness of the breath that binds all life in a conscious connected way.

The power of sound is another aspect of the breath: learning various ways to deepen and develop the lungs through the healing power of transformational sound, that includes, toning, sighing, singing and Mantras.

10:00 – 11:00 Breakfast (Silence)

11:00 – 1:00 Lecture

1:00 – 16:00 Lunch Break

16:00 – 18:00 Pranayama Practice & Teaching

18:00 – 18:30 Yoga Nidra or Mantra

18:30 – 19:30 Light Dinner

19:30 Fire Meditation or Bhajans (3x’s per week)

Prerequisites for the training 

 

  • You are able to sit comfortably for one hour
  • You are comfortable with silence
  • If you’re interested to further your credits with Yoga Alliance, you are required to teach on this course. If you’re joining to simply deepen your own practice then it’s not mandatory.
  • This training requires your full presence, as the days are long and the practice is through out the waking hours of the day.
  • There will be a written and practical assignment
