Description

Get away from the Winter Cold and Relax, Reset and Restore in the most lush, pristine, laid back and easy going beach bays in the whole of Sri Lanka... only recently discovered by surfers this bay is described by all who visit as "paradise". Hiriketiya bay is away from the commercialised tourist areas down a dirt track road so feels tranquil and isolated, like a home away from home surrounded by trees and jungle. We will enjoy 5 nights at the beautiful Salt House, a boutique Beach house with Tree top Yoga Shala and gorgeous rooms, pool, bar, and open-air restaurant providing all locally sourced, delicious meals. 2 classes of Yoga a day & meditation will give you the opportunity to immerse yourself in your Practice and really progress in a safe and playful environment. See some of the best Sri Lanka has to offer and take some time out for yourself before or after to explore the Island. All levels of practice welcome but experience in Yoga is necessary.Whats included:2x Yoga classes Daily1x Daily meditation & Pranayama sessionBreakfast and Dinners Daily*option to add lunchPick up from Colombo 9th July- at one meeting point in private van to SALT HOUSE Hiriketiya (1 way only)1x surfing lessonSurfboard use1x Day trip Temple Visit1x Afternoon safari to through National Park to see WildlifeExtra Activities:*2x night Add on- Colombo 7th July Black Cat BnB & Galle Fort TBA 8th July before Retreat Begins on the 9th July... $300 aprox extra per/person share accomodation including transport between Colombo, Galle and SALT HOUSE...This is a good way to see a little of Sri Lanka on the way to Paradise.Day trip to see the Fishermen on Stilts- Will be seen on the 2 night Add-on Day trip to Tangalle BeachesDay trip to Handunugoda Tea PlantationScooter Hire aprox $10 per dayMassage - Hotel Eva Lanka RecommendedPostural Alignment Assessment-30mins 1-on-1Ayurvedic treatmentsThe SALT Shala can fit 18 students only- I will have options for your Partner/family to join you for your stay at Salt or their sister property Pepper on request (meals additional $100 per person for Meal Package) - just let me know how many people are staying & if they are participating in the classes and activities Getting there:A VISITORS VISA IS REQUIRED FOR SRI LANKA- cost is $30 USD please apply within 90days of arrivalhttp://www.eta.org.lk/tourist_individual.phpFly to ColomboFlights from Australia get into Sri Lanka around 10pm-12am Midnight and only indirect from Sydney via somewhere in Asia depending on the carrier. There are direct flights from Melbourne with Sri Lankan Airlines (this is my recommendation as the waiting times in some airports are 5hrs).Reccomended flights:7th July (if you want to do the add on to Galle) or 8th JulySingapore Airlines3.00pm Departing Sydney- via Singapore- Arriving Sydney 11.55pmSri Lankan Airlines 4.10pm departing Melbourne- arriving Colombo 10.30pmaprox 10-11 hrs director from Sydney there are cheaper flights with Air Asia from $600 on Sale right now!!!! return with a 4hr stop over in KL *advice is check the layover times and destinations... this will affect how comfortable or uncomfortable the flight will be.CarHiriketiya is 2.5 hours from Colombo and most flights get in late at night- I recommend having 1 night in ColomboPrivate car Transfer can be arranged from Colombo for aprox $100-$150 per car... BusWe recommend the Highway Express Bus, which is a direct route from the Colombo Fort Bus Station to Matara Bus Station. Sit back in a comfortable air-conditioned seat and store your luggage in the compartment under the bus suitable for surfboards too. Cost is 570rup.TrainThe train runs from Colombo to Matara every day. This is a scenic and comfortable option if you are looking for transport on a budget. Cost is under 500rupFrom Matara to SALT HOUSEOnce you are in Matara you can tuk tuk to Salt House for approximately 1200rup. Or catch the local bus for 20rup. It is quite an experience. The Space:Salt House is a boutique beach house set back 50m from the beach, we will have the whole place to ourselves for the 5 nights. The rooms are all different, and there is a second property Pepper House for overflow should we need it.The yoga Shala is up in the trees- frequented by local monkeys for our morning practice, overlooking the pool and out-door dining area. There is a Bar for cocktails, and Squid is their takeaway Fish and Chip shop nearby for daytime beach feeds.Buffet breakfast & Dinner included.
