Even at the best of times anxiety can be exhausting and often spiral into something much deeper without the right tools to tame it. This ritual has been crafted specifically to help you to take control of your body and mind, calm your nervous system to help you think clearly and help you get back to your highest self.
Over two hours, this workshop will offer a safe space for you to explore movement, breath and meditation. While this session isn’t a masterclass is the body’s response to anxiety and stress, it will incorporate scientific approaches and techniques. We know that one in seven Aussies are currently experiencing an anxiety condition and that almost half of those people are seeking support to manage their symptoms (according to Beyond Blue).
We know that people are looking for help - sometimes it’s just hard to find something suitable to explore. This is the perfect entry point for someone who is looking for a different experience of taming their monkey mind. While this workshop isn’t aimed to be a substitute for professional support, it is complimentary by the way of teaching students how to listen to their body, and give them some simple, repeatable tools to use in times of heightened anxiety. One of Kate's aims more broadly is to reinforce the importance of removing the stigma associated with mental health, and to give students the opportunity (if they wish) to connect with others in the community
Over the past few years as a yoga teacher (and forever student), Kate has dived into a multitude of practices and education (like neuroscience, mindfulness and psychology) to experience what is out there to help with anxiety, stress and burnout. While she has additional training in meditation, yin and chair yoga, she has found that her speciality is a blend of practices that aide students to soothe their busy minds.
