If you find yourself rushing through life and not finding the joy in it that you had hoped; or constantly tired with no ascertainable reason; if you often feel irritable with your family and friends; or a little confused about where you want to point your inner & outer compass... Or, if you're really curious about this whole meditation thing, but you haven't known where to start with it because you think your mind might be much busier than everyone else's (so far from true :)), we invite you to join us. You may well find that meditation is a powerful balm for all this and more - offering you space, clarity, and freedom from within, even in constrictive circumstances, and less than ideal situations.

Join Rachel for this four week introduction to meditation. In a safe and supportive environment, we will begin to explore useful concepts and techniques to creating an ongoing meditation practice.  With this vital first exploration leading you into the practice,  you can begin to experience the sense of spaciousness and inner freedom within day-to-day life, that a regular meditation practice can bring about. These few minutes a day, as they begin seeping into the rest of each day, affect everything from capacity for and effectiveness in work/study; to our fulfillment and ease in all our interactions and relationships; to our enjoyment of food, and of natural spaces; to our creativity; our love-making; even how we experience washing the dishes!

We will engage in some key meditation practices from Yogic and Buddhist traditions, including mindfulness, Mantra, breath, body awareness and metta (loving kindness).

Each class will begin with some movement to offer freedom to the body. You will be supported to find a meditation posture that works for you. There will also be time for questions and personal introspection.

Taking time to sit with oneself is not always an easy thing to do but the benefits are beyond worth it!

As we take the focus from the external to the internal, returning home to self and reconnecting to stillness there is the opportunity to find true freedom.

Come as you are, no experience necessary.

“There are no impediments to meditation. The very thought of such obstacles is the greatest impediment. “ - Ramana Maharishi
