ASHTANGA YOGA

Mysore style

A traditional style of yoga taught as a set sequence of Asanas (postures) synchronising the movement of the body with the breath. The Asanas are designed in a specific order to open, align and detoxify the body and nervous system. Developing greater physical strength, flexibility and mental clarity. Students are taught at their own pace in a small group setting and courses are suitable for all levels.

ASHTANGA INTRO Courses run for 4 consecutive weeks and are designed for complete beginners or those new to the Ashtanga practice. You will learn basic breathing exercises, sun salutations, and the first section of the standing sequence. Each week will build on the previous as you learn the foundations of yoga and slowly establish a regular practice.        

Private classes are also available.

Redfern Yoga Room is available for hire by any person or group who wish to use it for peaceful purposes and practices.

 

 

HATHA YOGA

Hatha yoga is a traditional style of yoga consisting of different physical postures (asanas) designed to calm the body and mind while increasing strength and flexibility. 
 

These group classes are led by an experienced teacher and accessible to all levels of ability, with a particular focus on alignment and safety. You will learn the foundations of each pose and how they may be linked together, as well as helpful tips for modifying poses with props such as yoga blocks, blankets, straps, and bolsters.

 

Hatha yoga at Redfern Yoga Room is great for everyone: beginners, intermediate students, and more advanced practitioners.
