Are you a health professional, school teacher or work in a discipline that involves supporting clients?
Would you like to learn practices to help you deeply relax - and then instruct these to your patients, clients, students?
Yoga Nidra Training is a professional development course that offers an opportunity to gain valuable relaxation skills to use in your field. Participants will undertake theoretical and practical learning. These practices are easily adaptable to a range of settings including schools, hospitals and complementary health clinics.
History and context of Yoga Nidra
The stages of Yoga Nidra and their specific effects on body, mind and emotions
Evidence of research using Yoga Nidra and other mindfulness practices
The art of teaching Yoga Nidra and breathing practices
Relevant Anatomy and Physiology
The neuroscience of what happens in the brain throughout the stages
Release muscular, mental and emotional tensions
Bring balance to the Autonomic Nervous System
Induce a state of deep peace, clarity and acceptance
Train the mind to be able to reach a tranquil space effortlessly
Practices taught in this training are currently being used in a number of settings including: schools, hospitals, prisons and other community locations.
This course is delivered by the Academy of Yoga Science. The course will be delivered in the tranquil surroundings of our Retreat Centre, an hour and a half north of Sydney.

All teachers on this course are senior teachers of a classical system of yoga, including expertise in Yoga Nidra. In addition to yoga teaching skills, all teachers have qualifications and industry skillsets in a range of health and education disciplines. Assessors are also required to have a Cert IV in Training and Assessment.
Course Coordinator
Mantradharma/Alison Mac Taggart has worked in the health industry in both Australia and the UK for over 30 years. Mantradharma has an Honours Degree in Psychology and Literature, a Diploma of Yoga Teacher Training, and has undertaken professional development training in various skill areas such as Mental Health First Aid and Research Ethics.
Mantradharma is an experienced facilitator and trainer, and also a Yoga Teacher, Trainer and Yoga Lifestyle Coach. This includes: the provision of training to health and wellbeing professionals in the application of yogic techniques within the industry; and reaching classes and running workshops on yoga and health related topics.
The training is delivered in 8 days spread out over 4 months.
6 full days in March 2018
(Commence Saturday 10 March @ 4pm – conclude Friday 16 March @ 3pm)
2 full days over the weekend of July 6th – 8th
Home study and practice between face to face days
(5-6 hours per week)
Completion of online resources and assessment activities
Delivery of 4 teaching practice sessions and then completion of final assessment
