About this course

Attending regular yoga classes can sometimes be daunting, so we have designed a course to put you at ease. The emphasis is on safely stretching, strengthening and relaxing through a series of movements, breathing and relaxation techniques.  A gentle, introductory yoga course designed for:

  • absolute beginners;
  • people with conditions which may prevent them joining regular classes;
  • anyone who feels insecure about being in a group class or new environment;
  • anyone wanting an understanding of the fundamental and underlying principles of yoga;
  • anyone simply wanting a class at this very gentle, introductory level.
  • anyone wanting affordable and accessible yoga tuition.
  • kids are welcome and come at no charge when attending with their parent/s (please specify when booking)


What you will learn

This course provides a thorough introduction to traditional yoga and includes the foundation poses and practices known to bring strength, health and resilience to your body, and calmness, peace and clarity to your mind and soul. ​

  • introduction to both traditional and modern approaches to yoga
  • overview of Hatha and Raja Yoga systems
  • how to practice Hatha Yoga safely and appropriately
  • the mechanics and benefits of Hatha Yoga
  • the 12 foundation poses of Hatha Yoga and how to adapt them to suit
  • calming and strengthening yoga poses (dynamic stretching/movement)
  • basic yoga breathing methods 
  • how to calm your mind and relax your body
  • how to integrate yoga into your daily life

 

What you receive

  • A gentle, systematic and safe introduction to yoga suitable for people who have absolutely no experience, or who wish to learn the basics.​
  • 5 weekly lessons which are of a 75 minute duration.​
  • Easy and accessible yoga practices. Modifications and alternate practices given as needed​ (for instance if injury or limitation is a factor)
  • Home practice sheets with diagrams of every pose and sequence you learn.
  • A complementary ebook with comprehensive background information and resources.
  • Affordable yoga. This course costs $60 ($12 per class) AND includes all of the above.
