Tricia's interest in yoga began in the 70's after the birth of her first child. Tricia considers herself privileged to have had a number of exceptional teachers who skilfully guided her in deepening her practice of yoga and understanding of yogic principles.  "The wisdom and dedication to the living out of authentic lifesytyles by my teachers," says Tricia, "as well the experiences of varied workshops and retreats over the years, implanted within me a deep desire to pass on the benefits that I have received through my own practice of yoga."

Tricia formally studied yoga after her children were grown up and gained her diploma of teaching from the International Yoga Teaches Association.  Since then Tricia has been very much enjoying teaching 3-4 regular classes per week, 2 of which are held at her Auchenflower home.  She has taught at varies centres including the University of the Third Age, Kenmore State School Adult Education Program and as well, is involved with the Daily Oncology Rehabilitation Service (DORS) with Dr Saul Giffen, where she introduces patients recovering from cancer treatment to yoga therapy. Tricia also teaches on a relieving basis at Yoga in Daily Life in Fortitude Valley, Mind & Body Flow at Brookfield, Yogini for Women at Kenmore and Laughing Buddha Yoga at Chapel Hill

Classes at her home studio are limited to just 6  students and are developed to suit each student's individual need and allow for personal assistance and guidance as required.

Tricia has a keen interest and commitment to continuing study and deepening her understanding of yoga philosophy, as well as furthering her knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the body and at the same time acknowledging the importance for balancing this with time set aside to come back to her Stillness Within.  Tricia continues to attend regular yoga workshops, seminars and retreats, recently at the beginning of the new teaching year, attended a Self Care for Yoga Teachers" workshop presented by Swami Muktibodhananda Saraswati, The Bio Mechanics of Yoga Asansa by Flo Fenton and as well, The Conscious Yoga Core with Chris Knight.

"I am always open to new ideas and fresh methods of teaching.  I enjoy translating what I have learnt in practical ways to benefit my students' in their everyday lives."

I have an interest in introducing an additional class suited to students looking for a more gentle approach than the usual general yoga class provides.  This class would be suited to those who would like an easy class, beginners to yoga, those of a mature age.  Used as an aid to rehabilitation after an illness or surgery, or those who suffer from a debilitating condition such as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
