As a child all I ever wanted was to be an actor!

I spent a lot of my 20s and 30s training, auditioning, looking for work, writing to casting people and directors.  And…working as an actor!

Whenever I worked, I prepared myself using yoga;

learning about yoga and really learning about myself.  Yoga crept up on me.

I wasn’t a naturally calm person, I would get nervous at auditions, and of course, like all parents, I worry about my kids...

Yoga gives me clarity, focus and strength.

Yoga is my time to reconnect, to help me become calmer, better, happier, stronger.

Yoga provides me with silent reflection, physical and emotional strength, balance and groundedness.

When I’m teaching, I am fully present.  I enjoy sharing this secret of yoga, that took me by surprise, while I was planning to be something else!

Other details:

I grew up in Melbourne, studied Bachelor of Education, Arts, at Melbourne University, and then I went travelling.  I studied at Jacques Lecoq, school of Movement Theatre in Paris, then lived and worked in London and Europe, as an actor and voice over artist.

In 2004, I decided to become a yoga teacher, and having completed the two-and-half-year course, gained my qualifications with the British Wheel of Yoga in February 2007. I also taught pregnancy yoga, and officially completed the Pregnancy Yoga module, also with BWY, in 2013.

I have since worked with a huge variety of different people and companies; Cannons Health Centre in Bloomsbury, YogaHome in Stoke Newington, The Sunflower Centre in Brockley, The Goose Green Clinic, East Dulwich, FH Space in South East London, and various other London studios.

I created and ran my own company, called Brockley Yoga for seven years.

I also taught 1 to 1 sessions, and was a co-founder of the Blissed Out Friday Yoga, which recently gained a 5 star rating in Mumsnet!

My work is very much about listening to the group or the individual in every session.  I love using music to enhance and develop the experience, along with philosophy, and hands-on adjustments.

I kept my learning alive, and have attended many workshops in London, and been influenced by some of the most renowned teachers in the world, including Claire Missingham (regular class), Shiva Rea, Celest Perira, Donna Farhi, Uma Dinsmore-Tuli and Anna Ashby.
