Sara Little
Sara Little was born in Portland, Oregon and spent her childhood in Bend, Oregon. She attended Syracuse University and graduated with degrees in Magazine Journalism and Italian. While living in Florence, Italy, she was first introduced to yoga by a Greek friend who demonstrated Virabhadrasana II (Warrior II) on a Tuscan beach.
After graduation she spent a summer in San Francisco where she began a regular yoga practice. Three years later, Sara was certified to teach by YogaWorks under the instruction of esteemed senior teachers Chrissy Carter and Jodie Rufty. Combining the athletic, heating, and meditative practice of Ashtanga yoga with the intelligent posture progression of Iyengar yoga, Sara’s teaching style is best described as alignment based vinyasa. Sara is currently inspired by the intersection of Ashtanga and vinyasa yoga, and how Ashtanga influences movement and meditation in vinyasa. Her vision is to make yoga accessible and enjoyable. To truly practice yoga is to commit to a sacred, life-long transformation and to cultivate awareness in the present. As Judith Lasater says in her book Living Your Yoga, “practice, then, can be understood as a willingness to return to the reality of this very moment, that is, to observe with dispassion and clarity exactly what is – right now.” Visit her website at www.saralittleyoga.com.
